Jon Osback Presents: Remedial Design Insights for The Borden Bridges

Posted on February 23, 2024

We are thrilled to spotlight Jon Osback, one of Clifton’s Senior Geotechnical Engineers, as he prepares to share his expertise at two back-to-back events in Saskatoon and Regina.

First, on February 27, 2024, from 12:00PM to 1:00PM, Jon will present at the Saskatoon Geotechnical Group (SGG) event. Following that, on February 28, 2024, from 12:00PM to 1:00PM, he will be featured by the Regina Geotechnical Group (RGG). Both presentations promise to be informative and insightful, focusing on “The Borden Bridges – Remedial Design (and Other Issues Encountered) for a Large Scale Deep Seated Landslide.” This talk will explore the 2D and 3D stability analysis performed for the Borden Bridges site, noting site specific crucial impacts to the factor of safety of this historic landslide. This analysis was completed as part of a long term characterization of this site, to develop remedial options and produce a remedial design.

Jon’s presentation will not only highlight the technical challenges and solutions encountered in this major infrastructure project but also the influence on and considerations of other stakeholders and the related impacts to the project schedule and budget. It’s a fantastic opportunity for industry professionals to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in large-scale, deep-seated landslide remediation.
