A new chapter for Clifton.
Clifton Engineering Group Inc. is pleased to announce that Andrew Karvonen has been appointed President. Paul van der Raadt has assumed the role of Senior Vice President, Corporate Services, and Wayne Clifton will transition to Executive Chair of the Board of Directors.
This transition marks an important step in Clifton’s long-term succession planning and has been years in the making. Andrew brings more than 30 years of consulting and executive leadership experience to the role, with a career spanning technical consulting, business operations, strategic planning, and the leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
Andrew’s connection to Clifton began early in his career before he went on to hold senior executive positions within the consulting engineering industry. Since returning to Clifton, he has played a key role in strengthening our operations, supporting the company’s strategic direction, and preparing for this transition.
As President, Andrew will lead Clifton’s operations and executive team, working closely with the Board of Directors to advance the company’s strategic direction. His focus will include business performance and growth, client relationships, practice team development, and continuing to champion the culture and values that have shaped Clifton for nearly five decades.
During his time as President, Paul helped shape Clifton’s growth into the company it is today. As Senior Vice President, Corporate Services, he will continue to lead Clifton’s corporate functions and provide continuity across our leadership team.
Since founding Clifton in 1978, Wayne has guided the company from a small engineering firm to one of Western Canada’s largest independent engineering companies. As Executive Chair of the Board of Directors, he will step back from day-to-day operations while continuing to provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and oversight as Clifton moves into its next chapter.
