Hosted in collaboration with the Canadian Permafrost Association (CPA), this year’s theme, Stronger Together, highlights the importance of collaboration in addressing geotechnical challenges across Canada.
The Clifton team will be in attendance throughout the conference. On Monday, September 22 at 10:45 AM in MR3, our Geotechnical Engineer, Kelvin Sattler, will present his paper Estimating Settlement Using Laboratory Stress Strain Data. Co-authored with JT Tang, Matthew Buchynski, Jasyn Henry, and David Elwood, the study introduces an stress-strain calibration (SSC) method using oedometer data to more accurately model settlement. Case studies from Saskatchewan and Manitoba demonstrate improved prediction compared to traditional constitutive models.
